What is Whitelisting?

The primary purpose of email whitelisting is to flag certain email addresses or domains as trusted or safe. This helps ensure that emails from these sources are not filtered into the recipient's spam or junk folder.

How you whitelist email addresses can vary depending on the email provider, here are some quick guides for Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo.

Gmail:

  • Go to Gmail and log in to your account
  • Click on the gear icon and select ‘See all settings
  • Click on ‘Filters and blocked addresses’
  • Select ‘Create a new filter
  • Add the email address that you want to whitelist to the ‘From’ field
  • Click ‘Create filter
  • Select ‘Never send it to Spam
  • Click ‘Create filter
  • Repeat for any additional email addresses (e.g. support@estimateone.com)

Outlook (Hotmail/Live):

  • Click on the gear icon to access your Settings menu
  • Select ‘Mail’ from the Settings menu
  • Select ‘Junk Email
  • Click ’+ Add’ in the Safe senders and domains section
  • Add the email address you want to whitelist (e.g. docs@estimateone.com)
  • Click ’Save’

Yahoo Mail:

  • Open Yahoo Mail:
    • Click on the gear icon to access your Settings menu
    • Click ‘More Settings
    • Select ‘Filters’ and click ‘Add’ and enter the email you’d like to whitelist (e.g. docs@estimateone.com)
    • Name the filter and add the email address
    • Select to send all mail to Inbox
    • Save your settings

Additionally, you can add the email addresses to your contacts. Click on the Contacts icon, select ‘Add a new contact’, and enter the email address.

Remember that these are general instructions, and the exact steps might vary based on the version of the email service you're using. If you encounter any issues, it's a good idea to check the help or support section of your specific email provider for the most accurate and up-to-date instructions.
